Whether you are from a small midwestern town or as far away as Hawaii, coming to New York can often be overwhelming and you might find yourself having no idea where to start. Thankfully the CMA conference is held right in the heart of the city in Times Square with some of the coolest sights only a short walk away.

After a long day at the conference, food is priority number one before going on your big night out on the town. In this aspect, New York has no shortage of different types of places to eat.

If you are a fan of baseball or have a soft spot for the nostalgic shake shops of the past, then Junior’s restaurant is the perfect place for lunch or dinner. Multiple Junior’s locations throughout the city that features memorabilia of the Brooklyn Dodgers on the walls of the restaurant.

When it comes to food, they specialize in amazing steakburgers and as a bonus–even selling them at a reasonable price. Junior’s are also the perfect stop for a sweet tooth as they feature several different types of cheesecakes and ice cream sodas.

You can walk off the dessert on your way to the Disney shop located on 1540 Broadway street. The Disney shop is an ideal location for picking up souvenirs for family and friends back home. The store features a majority of Mickey Mouse merchandise but offers Star Wars, Marvel and other Disney characters’ memorabilia as well. Inside is a giant Minnie the Mouse statue dressed as the Statue of Liberty making a perfect place for a photoshoot.

Located nearby is the surprisingly large two-floor M&M store. Inside the store, you can find every flavor M&M imaginable and go through a line where you can make a personalized mixture of M&Ms. In addition to the candy itself, they have walls dedicated to a fan base of each color M&M. If you know anyone that loves candy or banks, magnets, blankets, or mugs this is an excellent stop for souvenirs.

Once the sky is dark–the city is livelier than ever and a final stop of the night is the Stephen Colbert Show. While it takes tickets to see the show, the building has beautiful lights illuminating the night as you see Colbert’s name flash gold in the sky. If you are extremely lucky there’s always a chance you see him exit the building as well.

All of these amazing attractions are just a brief start to New York City. One free night is all it talks to walk through Time Square and see just a hint of what the city that never sleeps has to offer from good food, cool attractions and a chance to see where the magic of TV happens.
